I don’t dislike law enforcement because I’ve had fair interactions with them. I deserved the traffic tickets I’ve earned (3 in 30+ years) and I have felt like cops would help me if I needed help. I know not everyone has this experience. |
Tried something, didn't work. Let's give up and let the jackbooted thugs have their way. |
The people who dislike law enforcement, using a few rare incidents to justify their stance, are people who do not want restrictions on immoral and evil behavior.
The only due process illegal aliens should get is the process of kicking their law-breaking butts out of the country. |
Fox news has joined the chat! You defective, due process is what proves illegality. Without it, it's just one thug's say-so. Heck, they could say YOU are illegal, and without due process, their word stands. You like that? |
But knowing that "not everyone has this experience" isn't enough to make you dislike law enforcement? I've never been victimized by LE. But I've seen them victimize others, and that's enough for me. I don't turn a blind eye until it affects me personally. Egad. |
People who are really sick hate doctors.
People who are really ignorant hate teachers. And cities full of crime apparently hate police. |
Facile and inaccurate. Try again. |
I don't dislike law enforcement. It's just they were everywhere, layers deep in our non crime suburban area, instead of where they should be, the much higher crime areas.
They don't want to get shot or do the hard duty, I get it. |
I’m sure you have a link to a reliable news source that corroborates the above statement. |
I know they have victimized others but I also know they have helped others. They’ve helped me. One example: several people got mugged in my neighborhood walking home from the train in the dark a few years ago. Shoved to the ground, not seriously injured, but nothing I want anyone I care about to experience. Town police stepped up patrols, made an arrest, the muggings stopped. I was grateful. |
Perhaps there’s more crime in your “non crime suburban area” than you realize. |
NP. +1 |
I don't "hate" them at all - I just think they're lazy |
Will these unarmed counselors with no authority to detain someone be responding to 3 a.m. calls in dangerous areas? What if the mental health call turns violent? What if the drunk or addict they narcan wakes up throwing punches? They can call police but they’re likely minutes away. Those could be the longest minutes of the counselor’s life. Who will sign up for this duty? |
Not really - plenty of people think this way. It's sad and unfortunate, but true |
