No shit. So there is no development value in playing games? Or using those skills in games? People really think all those extra private individual and group sessions going to keep your kid competitive? They’re only good enough for Instagram tricks if they’re not regularly used under game pressure . |
It’s not the same argument. Someone saying there should be minimum requirements is prob more concerned about the kids safety. But an undersized technical kid is getting all the development benefit from playing bigger and faster players. I mean biobanding is supposed to make sure the little but mighty player doesn’t get shafted on development. |
| At the MLS Next level they should all be "technical" kids. |
I think that’s more of an aspiration than reality. 😆 |
Games are the exams to show what you have learned in training Pressure situations requiring quick decisions are created in training by good coaches |
I like this analogy. So some players and teams like to take easiest exams that don’t challenge them. |
It has to be a mix of team training, team practices, scrimmages & games AND individual training. They both go hand in hand. The only kids who moved up a level from our team this year, were the kids who did a ton of outside team training. Their progress on the team and effectiveness in the games became significantly better, when compared to most other players, but especially compared to the players who only attend team trainings with no or little individual training. |
For the W, yes |
Resounding no. But that is the constant sales pitch without any payoff. |
| My kid has a November BD and is one of the tallest kids on his team. What is he supposed to do about that? |
| OP, put your kid in wrestling, then he'll always be matched for weight. |
It worked, you got every stupid response you could possibly wish for. Hilarious, wish I had started this comedy chain. |
Is he being challenged by the competition and getting better? If yes, then he’s right where he needs to be. If not, why is he still there? But that’s a question for every player. |
No the sales pitch is about a back door in to college…lol. They will tell you it’s about development when they are losing or your kid is being kicked off the team. |
