This is a good list because it shows how body shape and height make a difference.
JLo has said in the past (like a decade ago) that she's a size 6 when she's dieting/fit, but a size 8 otherwise. This makes sense to me. She's 5'5" which is not super short, but she's naturally very curvy especially on the bottom. She probably has to really work at it to stay a size 6, but she's clearly very disciplined and also I'm sure has a chef/nutritionist and a trainer. She probably works out daily, and not easy workouts.
Christina Hendricks is 5'8", which is tall for a woman. She's said in the past she wears a size 14. This is almost certainly dictated by her chest -- it's incredibly hard to size a large chest in "straight size" (meaning non-plus) size clothes. Plus being on the tall size, she likely sizes up in everything and has to have things tailored. On the other hand, her shape and height likely means it's not *that* hard for her to maintain and hourglass shape. As long as she accepts that's her shape and doesn't lament not being smaller (which she shouldn't, it's just how she is built). She has said in the past that it's very hard for her to find designers to dress her for events and I'm sure this is true. She wears a lot of Christian Siriano, and he is known for being willing to working with different body types and custom fit dresses. There is such a gap in the market for women with Hendricks' body type -- not a true plus size but a very large bust and curvy proportions. No one has figured out how to do it well, so you wind up buying to fit everything to your chest and then tailoring down. It also means understanding what styles will work, and a lot of fashion is simply not designed for this body type. Truly a mystery to me -- we all saw how amazing she looked in Mad Men in fashions of the day that were really well suited to her body type. So it's not like it can't be done. It' just not the current style.
Kate Winslet is probably the closest to a true 8/10. She's also 5'6" so closer to average height and not a total gym rat like JLo. Like Hendricks, she carries a lot of her weight in her chest, but she has more standard proportions so it's probably easier for her to find clothes that fit. Look at her wardrobe from the movie Lee, from last year. Like Hendricks in Mad Men, she focuses on clothes that emphasize her waist to create an hourglass shape. When she promotes movies, she definitely diets and exercises down to her smallest, and wears a lot of fitted sheath dresses. But you should also check out her in the movie Lee, out last year. It takes place in the 40s so it's period costumes, but she has a very normal body in the movie -- not the body of someone working with a trainer every day flipping tires, but the realistic body of a fairly voluptuous woman in the 1940s who eats and drinks heartily. She's still very attractive. She wears a lot of menswear but (at least early in the film before her character becomes a war correspondent and is just wearing fatigues) with a lot of femininity. Some of the styles are not dissimilar to what is in fashion now, especially the higher waists, the menswear inspired tops, the wide leg pants.
