Lost my job

Anonymous wrote:Hi OP - so sorry, I also lost my job as a fed after over 20 years. I started telling everyone I know that I was looking and asked for recommendations and help. It was humbling. Miraculously someone I’m still in touch with who I haven’t worked with since 2008 told me about a firm hiring for someone with my background and I just got the job, starting next week. My advice is to proactively reach out to people you know and tell them what you’re looking for, someone will know someone who can help you. If I knew you I would set you up to talk with other friends in your field. Good luck, I know it’s hard but there is someone out there who will hire you!

+1. Very encouraging. Congratulations.

Loved reading this. It literally put a smile on my face. Way to go PP and good luck OP!

What were you consulting on? Could you move into your own business and attract a former client?

While our federal bureaucracy desperately needs to be trimmed, I’m sorry this happened to you OP. But it will be for the best in the end — for the taxpayers and for you.

The taxpayers aren’t getting any money back in their pockets as a result of this, and the ripple effect of all of these RIFs will increasingly be bad for everyone. Including you.
