Would you take the week off to deep clean your house?

A cleaning service can’t organize your papers or go through your closet.

If you have vacation to spare, yes I would do it! Clean in the morning. Go out for lunch. Enjoy the afternoon. Perfect week.

How I would using PTO create “ill will”? Get over yourself or quit.

Another teacher here. This is what I do every spring break. I can’t afford to travel, so I give myself the gift of a clean house!

Another teacher here. I also can’t afford to go anywhere but I just paid a cleaning service to clean yesterday. I also do it once around Thanksgiving. Worth every penny.

I will be helping my mom get rid of a ridiculous amount of clothing and shoes. This is long overdue. She just needs someone to hold up the clothes and she decides yes or no. Then I’ll take it all to Goodwill. I have a tiny closet so I have to do this for myself at least once a year.

Part of me thinks this is the best idea ever, the other part thinks it’s a waste of personal time (I have it to burn and also have enough for family stuff.) What do you think?

Personally, I would soundproof his office so that I could blast music anytime I choose.

I've done it for a few days. Organized cupboards and closets, did a better than average clean (steam cleaned carpets etc) and then spent a day enjoying it.

I am taking 2 days off in May to do this. massive cleaning/purging. There is no other way to get it done.

That’s decluttering not deep cleaning

Yup, I’ve done this before and it’s wonderful. Favorite take out lunch place, organized closets, caught a 3:00 matinee, scrubbed floors. Ending up feeling like I accomplished something and had a mini vacation

Focus on things that will help the house feel better for awhile. I often spend the time my husband is away cleaning / organizing. It is worth it if I can organize a closet that will stay that way for awhile. It is not worth it if I do a good dust and vacuum because that will be undone in 24 hours.
