Would you take the week off to deep clean your house?

Hired people would never do this well. They never do. Countless threads on here about that.

Also, how do hired people know how to sort through closets and junk drawers?

+1 this sounds like a very restorative week for me

I'd love organizing and helping some one declutter for free. Some people like this sort of thing. Unless it's like hoarders and they say they want to clean but try to hang onto everything lol.

Part of me thinks this is the best idea ever, the other part thinks it’s a waste of personal time (I have it to burn and also have enough for family stuff.) What do you think?

Have fun. Uber food.

Get a maid or a local teen to help.

I mean, I would never take that much time to clean, because I hate to clean. I would end up on Netflix all day.

But if you want to do that, then great!

No sounds horrible

I would do it if i had the vacation time to spare.

I’d love to do it and agree with mixing in some self care too. Sounds amazing!

I'd hire someone to deep clean in terms of moving the fridge and sofa to clean behind/underneath. But I'd clean out the closets myself of course and declutter.

How would you clean out a closet without the owner of the items there with you?

Yes! I was able to basically “home edit” my house during the pandemic when all my volunteer gigs were paused, and it was life-changing. And so important to be able to do a lot at once, and have the time to measure the spaces and get the appropriate containers that fit and would look nice etc….none of this empty out a little drawer and shove half of it back in 45 min later. Our house felt like it doubled in size. Do it do it do it

I'd spend a day or two organizing and de-cluttering, then hire someone to deep clean

I’m a teacher. This is basically what I do over spring break. Works for me!
