But you all don't compare BC is the same way.

Because BC was never 25-30. It's always been 35-40ish. Still a very good school, but for most students, Tufts is a "better school"

And BC will never be in the 25-30 range. Tufts is not Emory’s equal and has not been in the lives of adults now working.

BC alums and parents inflate the school more than Tufts. They’re expect it to be an Ivy any day now.

BC flip flopped between 30 and 31 for almost ten years from 2010 ish to 2018 when US News first introduced a "social mobility" index, just letting you know.

I think Hopkins used to be in it. All excellent schools, generally a notch below Ivies. No shame in being a notch below Ivies - that is still very highly ranked and recognized. Each has its pros and cons. Those who bash them are wrong. Those who think they are interchangeable with Ivies are wrong (though there are obviously specialized programs, circumstances, etc.)

Those who place the Ivies above Tufts or any of the other 15-20 top private universities are just prestige whores more interested in 'brand awareness' than actual education.....fixed it for you.

Oh please. Tufts is Tulane in Massachusetts. Or BC in Medford, if you prefer that. Don't delude yourself.

You will be sorry for saying this soon. Watch out

I agree with this (one kid went to Tufts, the other to Wash U, and had similar edoucational and social opportunities and experiences, main differences being that Wash U’s campus is nicer but Tufts’ location is superior).

I think the reason Tufts is actually underrated is that it should be compared to these colleges, but it is lacking a business and some other specialized undergrad majors that these peer schools, which have always had a university (vs LAC) focus, so is consistently ranks less without these. The Tufts academic offerings are probably more similar to a LAC’s (but it is missing the consistently small class sizes that LACs have). It probably needs to identify better and that it improve its ranking.

On median SAT of newly enrolled students not much difference between BC, Tufts, and Emory. Fair to compare all three of them.
Tulane wasn't on the list.
Culturally I think the vibe at Tufts and Emory is pretty similar.
I think BC and Tulane don't quite appeal to the same student as the Tufts/Emory type. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/slideshows/colleges-with-the-highest-sat-scores?slide=18

This is spot on.

Tufts and BC are definitely similar with regard to ED driven acceptance rates and playing the test optional game (similar 40% rate as Tulane, USC and many other T100 schools).

That said, all of these schools are great if the fit is right and parents are willing to fork over $90k/yr.

So not in the 25-30 range. I hope you enjoyed the couple years of hype.

BC alums are nurses and work at Wayfair. Emory produces doctors.

Both BC and Emory have more students submit scores. And all T50 privates have good test scores. What differentiates it to make it a T25?
