| Have a sleep study done. You might have sleep apnea. |
So true ! No wonder young women are saying no to motherhood. It's become so much harder - both in terms of the expected "work" of mothering and raising kids in our world today. No wonder we are exhausted. |
| Could it be dorsal vagal shutdown? This the freeze response that comes after a long period of "fight or flight". |
| I would get a colonoscopy. |
I get exhausted at the end of the day. Not all the time, every day. For example, I fell asleep at 1 am last night. I woke up around 9.30. I drove to get my hair done, then had to run some chores. I was all ok. I got home around 3:30 and was very hungry. I ate dinner. Did some chores at home and by 6 pm I felt terrible exhaustions. It is physical exhaustion when I cant even watch a show. I need lay down and do nothing. I took a nap and I was feeling the tiredenss. I had 30 minute nap and feel better. It does not happen every day. Yesterday, for example, I did a lot of things plys ran 4 miles in the evening and I was perfectly fine. It's puzzling. |
| At your age I had very low iron and low thyroid. I was done by 5 pm. I’m now 56, no period, take levothroxine, go to bed by 10:30, that seems to help |
According to the my doctor my thyroid is fine. My last thyroid test was in 2022 and it was 1.58 which my doc said was within the range. I will have him recheck it. |
| Perimenopause |
| I’m 50 and have had this for years. I’m 10-15 lbs overweight, but my bloodwork numbers are good. I’m exhausted due to a combination of factors listed above: perimenopause, intensive parenting, stressful job, plus longish commute. |
