Their fears are unfounded and only a result of hysterical media in Europe.

There is truly no difference in risk now for a French family than there was six months ago. If anything I’d argue it’s safer since crime rates have continued to decrease.

This is actually why Trump won. People got tired of the hysteria and being gaslit.

You clearly live in some type of bubble. Beyond the visa/ border concerns, Trump has angered pretty much the whole world (except for Russia) and tourists don’t want to spend their hard earned money supporting a bully and a fascist regime.

The main reason Europeans are angry is they want us to defend them from Putin, and now it’s clear we likely won’t.

You can claim it’s other things like visas being revoked for residents who support terrorist regimes. But for all problems in life, the root of the cause is usually money. In this case, we aren’t paying for their defense and they are angry about it.

You are forgetting that after 9/11 the NATO states were forced by the USA to invest billions in the war against the Islamists to support the USA. Many European NATO soldiers died or returned seriously injured. And now the USA is suddenly supporting the war criminal Putin. It is good that Europe is becoming more independent, but whether this is also good for the USA is another question.

The 450 UK soldiers that died are a tragedy and deserve to be remembered. As well as those injured or suffer PTSD. But it’s not like the continent lost thousands.

Australia spent $A13 billion supporting the US in Afghanistan and Iraq. Of course that doesn’t sound so much now when you convert it to US dollars given Trump has tanked the Aussie dollar over its 0% tariffs on the US.
