It used to be conservative leaning. It even has an off-campus center dedicated to conservative values. Now, I would say Colgate leans more conservative. Of LACs in Mid-Atlantic, the more conservative schools would be W &L, Bucknell, or Wake. |

This is encouraging news to hear. For millennia, the concept of any university was a refuge for the free exchange of ideas; a forum for open and free debate. I feel universities in the United States have strayed far from that ideal over the past two or three decades. Looking for someplace moderate for DD. I am the OP, btw. |
