Looking for a republican presence. Would not characterize as “right-wing”. But whatev.

Had not previously considered Catholic U. Will look into it. Our family is Christian, so that’s a plus, although we are not Catholic.

If Christian, have you considered any Christian colleges? For example: Grove City would certainly be politically conservative.

Have not focused on Christian schools, although Catholic U. is an option we will look into (thx for the suggestion up-thread).

Grandparents went to a good Christian university in E. Orange, but it’s now defunct.

For example, my kid is at WM and although the campus leans left, College Republicans have a decent presence and are respected by the rest of the student body. And the WM protest movement is small, but College Republicans do protest and counter protest. But it’s class conservatism. MAGA not so much.

Don’t have a kid at UVA, but have to think it’s similar. Wake alum and know that classic conservatism is well represented but MAGA is not so much. (And heck,, another of my kids went to Oberlin. Would not recommend for a College Republican, because they would eyeroll their way through the strong trans rights, but they had a fairly active College Republicans chapter and they were respected by other students, because respecting others and their opinions is a core college value. MAGA was safe and could express values that ran counter to 95% of students. And we’re widely accepted in the City of Oberlin, where people called my kid a fa##ot in the grocery store. But they were definitely odd man out on a campus.

Most decent colleges have College Republicans and most kids will respect them. If they are classic conservatives. MAGA is a harder lift in the T50 and top LACs. You may want to think SEC or similar.

The college republicans are not widely respected at W&M. Does your DC have Yik Yak?

Did not say “widely respected”. I said “respected”. As in, other kids respect their right to be there and aren’t going to refuse to be friends with kids from College Republicans. They protest and may get a counter protest. But, in general, the kids respect that other people have different views. That may not extend to MAGA.

Would note— OP said mid-Atlantic. Finding a MAGA friendly school in that geographic region, or even a predominantly conservative school will be tough. Unless Liberty is on the table. If OP is open to Southern schools, like the SEC, there are more options.

Would also note Catholic Universities attract culturally conservative kids. Which again, is different than MAGA.

Please clarify- is she regular republican or a trumpet? I think if trumpeting as a third political party. Every day it moves further away from republican ideals.
I hope young republicans get back to basics. And away from trumpeting. I am not sure where a trumpet could go to college and not have to hide this from everyone. I have three in college.

That's the only visible activity the College Republicans do at our local selective university.

It's very Boebert-esque.

Mentioning this because it's not enough to have a chapter, it matters what the chapter does.

Did you see this in the news?

I used to be a Republican.

I'm a Democrat, but this isn't what OP asked- she asked about colleges with strong Republican chapters for her DD.

My point was, be careful what activities those "strong chapters" engage in. Other PP's are elaborating...need to segment out MAGA-centric from whatever the rest can be characterized as.

Where’s Boston College in this array?

Maybe she wants to be a new and better voice ?

You mean revive the grand dead party? That party is gone. If you are looking for a maga chapter, doubt any will openly advertise in majority of mid Atlantic colleges. Be smart, choose wisely.

Dude would love to have this for my NEG list too...

Like rate
? How much does college football coach get paid at your school?
? What percentage of student body is Greek?
? How active is your College Republican chapter?

Could imagine a few flavors of list like this.
