Overall Vanderbilt is 8 accepted out of 83. You would have to consider that the lower GPA accepted students are athletes or otherwise hooked.

Full pay and ED is enough of a hook for Vandy. Isn't Gwyneth Paltrow's kid one of these acceptances?

BCC has at least 6 seniors going to Vandy next year. As far as I know (and I know 4 of the kids families) none have hooks.

way more impressive than bunch of rich kids with connections getting in.

So BCC has kids richer than most privates who accept a variety of incomes and provide FA. Just saying…

What's your evidence for that? BCC has 2400 kids, and 22% get free lunch (FARMS). What private school are you referring to where 22% of the kids qualify for federal free lunch?

in the past they removed legacies and athletes from admittances provided so as not to provide unrealistic expectations. there are many kids from money but it is also a hard school.

legacies, recruited athletes, and big donor kids are excluded from the list- pg 37.

I looked it up. H-W doesn't even have 22% of students on fin aid, let alone 22% of students poor enough to be on free lunch. (Which, per federal guidelines, is an annual income of $40k/year or less for a family of 4, BTW.)
