It's for everyone, but if your kid needs everyone home at the slight sniffle, that's a problem. I do feel for you, it can't be easy to expect everyone to tip-toe around you. Do you tell everyone in the stores to go home? That must be hard for you. |

My kids are 17, 19, 21, and 23 and it has always been fever free for 24 hours before they can return to school.
Allergies do not cause fevers. Teething does not cause fevers. The only thing that causes a fever is an infection /illness in the body in some form. |
I know you think you're clever but with every post you reveal more and more how awful you truly are. A fever is not a slight sniffle. Keep your sick kids at home where they belong though I'm sure they would much rather get away from you. I hope they got their smarts from someone else's genes. |
The Cleveland Clinic must be wrong: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/symptoms/10880-fever#possible-causes |
Still doesn’t mean you should send a kid with a fever to school! |
I hope your kid gets out of the bubble you've put them in. The world does not owe you anything. Everyone needs to stop their lives so that my snowflake can have everything at everyone else's expense. You're part of the problem. |
Yet, in this conversation YOU are the only one deliberately infecting other children. Who gave you permission to infect others? Who made yoy god? Get effed!!!! |
| I've subbed in the clinic several times and yes we temp every person who walks through the door, regardless of their health complaint. |
You are keeping my kid out of school. That's discrimination. You are making my kid feel left out. That's not nice, don't you think? School is for everyone. |
Those are the rules for everyone. It’s so rich that a person breaking them is calling the rule follower a snowflake. |
You’re so unbelievably dumb. Not only is it fair that other kids don’t get infected by your selfish actions, it’s also incredibly cruel to your own children to send them to school sick. |
Think about it. My kid is probably not the first kid that got sick. If my kid didn't go to the office, no one would have known. Then what??? There is probably 20% of the kids walking around in school right now that are sick with fevers. It's not doing any good to keep them out for days on end. I don't own any meds at home that magically get rid of whatever is causing this. |
The link confirms what the pp said. Not sure what you’re trying to prove with the link. In any case, school aged children rarely have fever from teething, and allergy fevers rarely go above 100.4. |
Other reasons for fever. It's not all COVID. Urinary tract and GI infections are not contagious, but can cause a fever. What are the most common causes of fever? Our school district’s illness “rules”:
No Fever (which our school classifies a fever as a temp taken orally that is above 100°) for 24 hrs before returning to school. No vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hrs before returning to school. No undiagnosed skin rashes. Otherwise, it is at parents’ discretion. Everyone knows you don’t send a kid to school if they have a fever. Most likely they have a fever due to a contagious illness and even if it happens to not be contagious (reaction to a vaccine or something) they’ll likely feel horrible if you make them go when they have a fever. MOST people don’t get fever w minor illnesses like mild colds. Usually if they have a fever, it’s a sign of a worse illness. |
