Lots of people will be absolutely delighted with this. And not just MAGA. Anyone across the county who feels Democrats are the party of elitists that demand total belief compliance from everyone. The people who think the Democrats stopped listening to voters. The people who resent Democrats telling them that they have to accept their entire orthodoxy or they are bad people.

You don’t understand it because you are a DCUM Democrat, almost certainly UMC or wealthy, almost certainly a woman, probably white. You are one of the people that everyone else resents because you’ve attempted to shove a belief system you think makes you the best person, better than others, down everyone else’s throats.

Just FWIW, I do not support Trump’s behavior here at all. But the hermetically sealed echo chamber that convinces themselves that everyone agrees with you is wrong here.

Trump is a generationally clever politician. He’s picked an issue where wealthy white Democrat elites are on the opposite side of the rest of nearly the whole country, and he’s using it as a way of demonstrating that the Democratic Party doesn’t listen to its voters, is out of touch, etc. So when he is demanding an apology, people see him as demanding an apology from a bunch of wealthy elitists who believe they are better than everyone else. They don’t see it as bullying. They see it as him fighting for the underdog against power structures and people that hate them.

This is impossible for most DCUM Democrats to understand, however, because it requires them to admit that they are wrong, and not superior people. It requires them understanding that their adherence to political orthodoxy and fundamentalism has alienated large swaths of the voting population. It requires progressives to admit that they are as religious as the fundamentalist Christians, just on different issues. And that’s never going to happen, so you will remain puzzled that most of the rest of the country doesn’t see this quote the way you do.

DP. I don't get it.

Can you show for me, EXACTLY AND SPECIFICALLY, where Kamala Harris or other major Democratic candidates running in 2024 had "put men in womens sports" as part of their campaign platforms or anywhere in their campaign speeches?

Show me something specific and maybe I'll start to get it. If not, maybe you can start to admit you're the one who's wrong and to acknowledge that the GOP ran a massive smear campaign claiming they did. Bob Casey for example lost because of that smear campaign and NEVER ONCE said a single thing about women in mens sports.

So either provide specific evidence if you want me to "get it" or back off and change course.

The fact that Biden tried to change Title IX to redefine sex as gender identity proof enough.
But, you can also add to that - 203 Democrats voted to allow biological men in women's sports instead of protecting women and girls.

Biden dropped out, so I don't give a crap about him.
Also, you omit the reason why the Democrats voted the way they did - because less than 10 people does not warrant legislation, that's why. And the bill fizzled out in the Senate anyhow.

So try again. You haven't made a compelling case.

Biden dropped out, yes. And then Harris enthusiastically endorsed everything he had done. So, while you may not give a crap about Biden, it is very clear yours was a minority opinion.

Also, just as an aside, Democrats need to leave the “only ten” talking point. It’s not persuasive and makes people think you are lying.

You still don't have a specific. And as for the "only ten" you think they are lying because you yourself have been lied to to make you believe it's a vast epidemic when it's not.

I’m not sure why “I endorse everything Biden did and wouldn’t change a thing” a few weeks after he drastically rewrote Title IX isn’t specific enough for you, but perhaps you lack the ability to make logical leaps.

Also, here is why “only 10” doesn’t work: People don’t distinguish between NCAA and their local track meets on this issue, so already “only 10” sounds like a lie. And the number of podium spots lost is growing; every widely circulated video of a high school natal boy blowing out the competition makes that number seem even more of a lie. But also, Democrats have traditionally not put a number on fairness. In other words, Democrats have, in the past, put themselves forward as being the party that fights to correct unfairness even if only a few people are hurt by that unfairness. But here, with the “only 10” messaging, Democrats are essentially admitting the situation is very unfair but there aren’t enough people harmed yet for them to care. That is absolutely terrible messaging.

“While the State of Maine has apologized for their Governor’s strong, but totally incorrect, statement about men playing in women’s sports while at the White House House Governor’s Conference, we have not heard from the Governor herself, and she is the one that matters in such cases,” Trump wrote Saturday. It’s unclear what apology from Maine the president could be referring to.
Trump also demanded a commitment from Mills to refrain from challenging the federal government’s stance.

“Therefore, we need a full throated apology from the Governor herself, and a statement that she will never make such an unlawful challenge to the Federal Government again, before this case can be settled. I’m sure she will be able to do that quite easily. Thank you for your attention to this matter and, make America Great Again,” Trump added.

Just another thing. Stream of consciousness while taking a dump. No thank you’s or apologies for this malignant, pathological loser. Governor won’t budge.

Well, the governor already has budged, quite a bit actually.

Where’s the proof? As of 2 hours ago, Mills hasn’t engaged or apologized. But in Trump vengeful form, he canceled the contract that allowed parents in Maine to electronically apply for Social Security numbers for their newborns, as it’s done in all other states. He forced parents to go in-person with their newborns as proof to attain a ss#/card. And in typical derangement form, Trump lifted the childish retribution play. You’re turn.

Maine should secede and join Canada. Win-win.

Unfortunately there are a lot of Americans actively applauding this. But progressives on DCUM refuse to understand why. And it’s not just MAGA, which is a serious problem.
Sure. Show us the data. I was at a gathering in NE Saturday. Plenty of Maine guests despise him, and thrilled that their governor spoke up. Less thrilled that cocaine addled DJr is squatting in their state.

I’m sure that your gathering of elderly New England NPR listeners hate Trump.
I'm not elderly, my husband isn’t elderly, our son is 21. Guests spanned all ages. Some were lifelong republicans. Some probably voted for Trump. I don’t live in Maine, but it feels Trumpy. The Maine cohort at party like Mills and respect her stand.

I hope the governor of Maine gives a hearty laugh on camera and then says. "Next question".

He was trying to look for Trump who planned to crash his rain forest party. He was worried Trump would be electrocuted with all that rain + boat battery. He didn’t find him, assumed he was shark food. By the time he wandered back, he forgot to alert anyone.

Trump is a thug and a fool encouraged by the Republican renegades in the House and Senate who have willingly and gleefully refused to honor their oath of office to protect and defend the US Constitution.

I sincerely hope that the 2026 gives the Democrats a 2/3 majority on both the House and Senate and they've every single Republican is censored and expell Mike Johnson for treason.

"Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member. The House and Senate power to discipline their members generally includes the authority to censure, reprimand, fine, or expel."

I don’t know what MAGA needs to hear this, but let me assure you. No self respecting trans woman wants anything to do with your type. There is next to zero risk you will take a hottie to bed and find your girl has a penis. But in the very rare chance you do, it doesn’t make you gay, ok? No harm no foul, no one has to get brutally murdered.

So let’s just leave the girls to live in peace, okay?

Mainers despise him, except for the County (home of Susan “Furrowed Brow” Collins). It’s only going to get worse with the loss of Canadian tourism and the lumber tariffs.

NP. Does "protecting women and girls" involve a wholesale attempt at erasing the contributions of women in the military because of "woke DEI"? How about waiting until women are hemorrhaging or septic woth a futile pregnancy before providing them with appropriate healthcare, or putting them in the position of needing to be medically airlifted out of their home state (Idaho) to seek lifesaving care like it is some third-world country? How, exactly, does that protect women and girls?
Or how about complete disregard for family-friendly policies? How does consistently voting against paid family leave protect women and girls? How about the repeated refusal by Republican legislators to codify a right to IVF last year...tell me how that protects women and girls?

I mean, if the right wing is going to make every instance of a trans female athlete winning it will seem much more common than it is. Every day in America there are thousands of games being played at all levels. Media bias.

I don’t see many right wingers posting about trans male athlete Patricio Manuel who has some early success against cis male boxers. Look at his picture - do you really want your girls sparring with him and sharing a locker room with him?

Show me on the doll where the masks hurt you.

Also, masks and school closings happened under Trump …. Sucks, but you can’t blame Biden.

Now we’re facing stagflation and a recession under Trump. And I just paid $8 for eggs at Giant, so it’s not that “woke” left that is turning things to poop.

I paid 3.49 at Trader Joe's. Cage free.
