Then why don't they? why don't they put an all-star team together - or even better, 8 all star teams - and invite teams from overseas to play them? or put an all-star team together and challenge GA? why do they only want to ever play their own? Why is it always hypothetical superiority? Why not actually show the superiority? Why can't individual teams not in ECNL not apply for a wildcard in an ECNL showcase?

It happens at Jefferson Cup, Bethesda premier cup, vda showcase, Loudoun showcase, etc. ECNL and GA teams play each other.

Hopefully we see some GA vs ECNL matchups in August. I’m sure all of the new elite GA programs in northern Virginia will want to test themselves against ECNL clubs that only poach talent.

Nationals from Michigan was the club of the year multiple times in the GA. They were the consensus best club in the league nationally. They now play in ECNL and are a good club. Not a great club or a special one.

As players get older they clubs/teams don't play in big tournaments as much anymore.

You can be emotional about it, but it doesn’t change that they were by far the best club in the country in the girls Academy and now they have switched leagues. They’re just another good club.

It's just sad that an ECNL parent can't see beyond the hat and congratulate GA teams for winning at the international level.

ECNL teams don’t need an all star team to compete. PDA 09s put a stomping on these teams this past summer in the Nike Cup.
