A soccer parent who want to be 13 years old again. |
Speak plain english now that it's the law of the land: they are both 2011s playing up in 2010.... except for this past weekend. Womp womp. |
| This is so silly. Vda played well. Arlington had a bad day. Move on. |
Welcome to the BY/SY debate. There is a 750+ post thread to catch up on if you actually care. |
dont care. but curious why parents are so upset that kids play up and down and wins. in English, you have a 2011 who is good enough to play up but then when needed s/he plays her/his age group? |
|
SYC does this. In the MLS Next world, its call bio banding a kid.
|
Every ecnl girls team does this. |
Yes. They can and do--it is not an exception. It's in the rule book as the workaround for the stupid birth year rule that leaves trapped players without a team to play with in 8th and in 12th. And friends, this is why we are moving to SY in 2026. |
There will still be trapped players even with SY, fella. |
How? |
DS bday is end of August and they are they oldest for their grade. EX. they will be playing with 9th graders and they are in 8th. |
You held your kid back congrats. |
Without knowing the exact details on how they will address the problems of different localities having different cut offs for when a child can begin school, there could still be issues. People are hoping that this reduces the already small number of affected kids to an even smaller one but there will still be issues. |
The injured player aside, I still don’t understand why a team like the Arlington 2011s would play two trapped players instead of others. What is going on over there? Was it bad decision making by EG? Or longer term strategy with the SY changes? |
Yeah... in kindergarten. |
