I hope I get the mail at latest this Saturday. Do everyone get a letter no matter selected or not selected or in lottery or not in lottery? Will they upload it on parentvue the day they mailout letters?

May the odds be ever in everyone’s favor…

I am resigned that my kid will likely not be in the CES next year even though I know she would highly benefit. I would love to work with others to advocate for better supports at local schools especially as they get rid of ELC and cohorting. I really like CKLA so it’s not about the curriculum but rather being taught with similarly abled peers who are able to go faster and deeper…

Thank goodness MCPS has a staffing policy that identifies schools/class cohorts with populations of more heterogeneous ability, regardless of economic status, and assigns additional staff there to allow for the differentiation needed to provide equitable experiences across schools to students of similar abilities.

Oh. Wait...

They are not serving gifted students well despite state law. They said they were bringing ELC to all schools to make up for the lack of seats at CES and yet that turned into “ELC for all” (which doesn’t work when you still have students struggling to read) and now nothing at all.

Thanks PP! I’ve been checking hourly. My DD made it in to CCES! Phew.

Oh if helpful, she has a 504, got 97th percentile on MAP-R, straight As and high reading level at low FARMS school.

Is the acceptance form not working for anyone else?

My daughter made the lottery but did not get a spot. 96th percentile at a high farms school. I'm a little sad because she wanted more of a cohort of peers. My bigger concern is middle school though so I will hold out my hopes for that.

MAP-R 227 didn't get a spot.

My daughter got into the pool (but not a spot), 222 at a medium-FARMS school.

Where are people seeing this in ParentVue?
