| 86K in 2000 - I was 32 and a VP at a bank - it seemed like so much money at the time. I stayed home for many years after that working P/T contract stuff. Just returned FT making 100 K - it feels like what about 40 used to be. |
| I graduated 2001. Spent a year working babysitting jobs making my own hours and being paid about $20 / hr while living with my parents. Then my parents kind of pushed me to find a “real job” so 2002-2003 worked at a financial company for 28k. Moved to DC and worked at a nonprofit for $32k. Then went to grad school - worked for a professor (it was about $20 / hr) during school. After grad school my first job was $48 k (2008) but at 6 mos was about $52 k and at one year was about $60k. |
| I graduated college in 1998 and my first job as a scientist paid $36k. At the time, I thought this was so much money! |
Also a journalist, also graduated in 1998. I made $28k for most of 2000, but then moved to a new job in the fall and salary jumped to $48k. |
