Hypothetically speaking, would you work for Elon Musk?

Remote so you'd never see him or anyone else. I have many reservations: the obvious ethical ones, job security, plus some of the schedule and timing is not ideal. But it is more than I have ever earned in my life, by a lot. I don't "need" the money because I am a frugal person generally without big needs, but I'm also in my current position because I always make the selfless, lower pay, responsible and good work/life balance choices...So am I just avoiding risk at the detriment of myself?

Dear god have some pride.

No, as a principle, I can't work for somebody who was once an illegal.

No way. He's a weirdo and gives “no soul” vibes. Pretty sure he's a cyborg.

Because I know it is (this is an actual job, I am deciding whether to move forward and obviously have huge reservations!)

Why does your post title say "hypothetically" if this is a real situation? You probably won't last long there.

Same. I don't want to work on his plantation.

For the right money, sure. Guy is kooky but a genius.

Fork no.

Ha ha.

No. He will be in prison with his Gen Alpha Nazi henchmen.

I'm a federal employee. Elon Musk is running the federal government. So, technically I'm already working for Elon.

Yep. Feds I know are already getting unhinged emails from Elon encouraging us to quit, so it looks like they are already working for him.

Space X has a skeleton crew they work all hours and only the top 1 percent are paid well. Chaos and bad working conditions have always been a musk thing. He doesn’t create he destroys while getting government funding Mr welfare

Same with Starkink.

Musk treats them like crap that is not new.

When he bought Twitter he promised to pay employees lol 😂 nope.

Anyone willing to work for a Nazi gets what they deserve

I know someone who worked with him as a lawyer for a lot of money and…hell no.

Remote? C'mon, don't be lazy. Return to the office now!

Or is RTO not something Elon is worried about with his own staff? Hypocrite.

Well, given that we did work with actual Nazis after the war to develop rockets, I guess there's not much change. SpaceX is the preeminent company in rocketry today, so there will always be a lot of aerospace engineers willing to work there on cutting edge technology. There's Blue Origin too, but is a Bezos company really that much better? Unfortunately, Boeing is a disaster these days, so working for Musk or Bezos is pretty much where it's at for rocket engineers today.
