LA Fires

The "rich person" (you're referring to Amandy Moore) did not start the GoFundMe. She reposted a post about it. If people here are going to criticize celebrities as tacky, at least be accurate about what they did or didn't do.

Actually, we already covered who started the Go Fund Me, Hilary Duff's husband. And, to be clear, I wasn't actually criticizing, but was one of the few people defending the effort.

I lost items in a fire once. Didn't destroy my home but required 9 months of living elsewhere and smoke remediation and some things were lost. No ill will toward her, it is horribly stressful even if you have money to deal with it.

+1 I totally agree! I noticed that part of her post too.

This is weird but I’ve seen Paris in multiple situations in real life and she is not the “Simple Life” character she plays … she’s actually articulate and seems smart, sweet and thoughtful.

Her net worth is over $14 Million but she doesn't have $60K to give them?

Shameful. Shameful to be begging others for money.

It would be so poetic for him to live in 1house in the midst of devastation.

Joe Rogan said that he decided to leave Los Angeles after he has to evacuate for wildfires three different times. A firefighter told him that, if a perfect set of wind conditions hit, a fire could start and burn all the way to the ocean. The clip of Joe telling the story went viral this week.

People are not going to rebuild $10 million plus properties knowing that a fire could sweep through next year and burn the whole thing down again. In addition there has not been a good explanation for why the Santa Ynez reservoir was dry. It seems like the public works folks were not doing their job. The risk of owning property there is not worth it. I think we will see a massive relocation of celebrities to other places like Vegas and San Francisco.

I find it very annoying that the media is 100% focusing on the celebrities who lost their homes and no focus of discussion of anyone else who lost their homes like it's only "celebrities" who matter here. I'm so sick of the media for so many reasons. They disgust me.

Where are you getting your news? The front pages of the Post, the NYT, NPR, LA Times, CNN all have tons of stories about the fire and everyday people?

I watch LA local news and there is more coverage of Altadena than Pacific Palisades.

Anonymous wrote:Anyone know what celebs have lost their homes due to fire

So far:

Paris Hilton
James Woods
Milo Ventimiglia
Mandy Moore
Billy Crystal
Mark Hamil
Cary Elwes

That's ironic.

I thought I saw Anna Farris lost her home too? And Jennie Garth?

Did you bold them because on This Is Us their house burned down, too? And Jack died. Glad Milo, whose wife is expecting a baby very soon, is OK.

So far the two celebs that I have seen post some of the most sensitive but heartbreaking posts are Paris Hilton (as others have mentioned) and also Spencer Pratt.
