Girlfriend would be less snappy if she ate a cheeseburger.

This is what is going to drive me insane for the duration of this catastrophe... Her brother I would assume is not wealthy etc., but Mandy Moore is a multimillionaire, most recently making 250k per episode of this is US and having an estimated net worth of 14million, no I am not giving your brother any money. Jesus.

Hillary Duff and her husband are also friends with this brother in law. They both also shared the gofundme.

Hilary Duff’s husband actually started the gofundme.

I mean, it's a little tacky for a rich person to start a gofundme, but on the other hand, there is a lot of good will towards those who have lost homes, and I can think of a lot worse things in the world than people getting together to rebuild someone's home after a fire.

Yeah, that's weird. She should have plenty of scratch.

A lot of rich people are very cheap.

It’s possible Mandy’s sister doesn’t feel comfortable asking Mandy to 100% fund her home. I’m sure Mandy will make a hefty contribution.

Isn’t that better than asking her sister to use her celebrity to get other people to pay for her home??

I wonder how many of these celebrities who have lost their homes have made substantial contributions over the years to firefighters?

It's very tacky. We live quite modestly below our means and do not have massive salaries. We save and invest. We have helped out families in emergencies with large donations (assuming they are responsible with money). I could afford to give that to family and still be saving for retirement and 529s, but it would be a sacrifice. There is no excuse for this. If she thinks they are irresponsible with money then don't ask us to give hard earned money. At least when you give to reputable charities, you get a tax deduction.

Wealthy individuals who lost their homes will likely rebuild with significant improvements, often with support from insurance companies. They’ll move into new houses that will soon become their homes, finding happiness again. While they may miss some belongings, especially irreplaceable items like antiques, they can afford to replace most of what was lost. Life will move on for them, much like it will for Mandy Moore and her BIL.

However, there are countless others who are not celebrities and who don't have rich relatives, those without resources or support. For them, the journey to finding a place to call home will be much longer and far more f@cked up.

So far:

Paris Hilton
James Woods
Milo Ventimiglia
Mandy Moore
Billy Crystal
Mark Hamil
Cary Elwes

That's ironic.

I thought I saw Anna Farris lost her home too? And Jennie Garth?

The Mandy Moore thing is tone deaf. And it will damage her career.

The "rich person" (you're referring to Amandy Moore) did not start the GoFundMe. She reposted a post about it. If people here are going to criticize celebrities as tacky, at least be accurate about what they did or didn't do.

I'm not a fan of hers, but nah, it's not going to "damage her career."

Should they be rebuilding in the same place? If any federal funds are going towards these multi-million dollar places, I say no.
