I had better hopes for a delay when I cleared my house at 6 pm. Everything is covered over again - I can’t see pavement, which means that refreeze tomorrow is going to be an issue. Now I’m thinking 75% closure for non teleworkers. |
Agreed. It is still snowing! |
The snow is totally past and the roads will be cleared and salted more tonight. Anything more than a delay is silly. |
Still snowing in Bethesda. |
Unscheduled leave. |
The snow will stop at 11:00pm. Plows will be out overnight. You're like school-aged children, I swear. You've already had two brand new holidays show up this year, plus an overabundance of random 8 hours given out at random. You all get plenty of time off. |

What is your problem? |
Wow, super whiny. Check yourself. |
Wonder what information OPM is waiting for at this point. Plow status? |
My agency just called a Code Red for the night shift. |
I live in Arlington and county gov is opening with a delay.
I’m WAH tomorrow no matter what so I’m just holding out hope that daycare will I’ll open (they follow OPM). Fingers crossed for an opening or no more than a delay! |
OPM is waiting for the secondary snowfall to stop later this evening. |
The only reason for the closure today was that the snow was still falling which can means that having people on the roads would interfere with plowing and possibly lead to a carmageddon scenario.
For the government to close tomorrow, there would need to be severe disruptions to above-ground metro. That isn't going to happen, so government will be open. |
Given that the snow won’t stop until 11:00, I am thinking delay or unscheduled leave/telework. Agree that chances for closure are slim. |
