We are telework ready so WFH today. I would love a WFH option tomorrow, as it's my in-office day. Thoughts on whether we will have liberal telework and/or delayed start? |
I wouldn't bet on closure. Liberal telework seems very likely, probably a delay too if the evening forecast holds.
I haven't seen a plow yet in my suburban VA neighborhood, but the day is young. |
The snow isn’t supposed to stop until midnight, so there’s a good chance they do max telework again tomorrow. |
Unscheduled leave/telework seems likely since it's still snowing and all of the school districts will close tomorrow. |
Really hoping it’s closed and not just unscheduled leave. |
Open, two hour delay at most. The only entities needing more than one day to dig out are public schools, which will be closed the rest of the week. |
Either way MoCo schools will be closed so it's TW for us until they reopen, which my best bet will be Thursday at the earliest. |
delayed opening. |
I’m going against the grain and saying closed. (DCUM tends to be ridiculously conservative/off the mark with these predictions) |
Open or not, many of us with children
will have to stay home since all major school systems will be closed. For those of us who can’t telework, hope OPM does the right thing and closes. |
When do we think they will call it? |
Tonight or overnight. It will depend on the plows and evening weather. |
If it keeps snowing, then closed (possibly liberal leave). I don't know how much they take into consideration folks that have to work in person (I do). If my street isn't plowed it's really not safe for me to make it to the main road - I imagine others are in the same boat. |
I think delay or unscheduled leave. |
I think they do and the public misconception that almost all Feds are able to telework actually helps our cause in these circumstances. OPM can declare a building closure/mass telework and those who regularly bash the “lazy Feds all working from home in their pjs” don’t really have anything more to complain about. |
