My intuition tells me that your maiden name is Dunning and your married name is Krueger. |
OMG - so jealous. I spent a lot of time in my childhood and youth trying to wiggle my nose and/ or ears. Never was able to. Since we live under a flight path and not that far from the beltway, am glad to not have super hearing. |
Mine are the same numbers (1:11; 12:12), etc. for the last year or two. I think I am going crazy( I even have people text me at the same-numbered times. I did not tell anyone IRL. |
DO - had to look this up The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias that occurs when people with limited knowledge or expertise in a particular area overestimate their abilities: I think posters are being too harsh with this PP - if she thinks understanding people within 30 minutes and being to create comprehensive life correction plans is her special gift, so what? She is entitled to her self assessments. I would note though that my DH also used to offer a lot of unsolicited advice, which did not go down well. His social skills have gotten way better since not trying to fix others. It is hard enough to fix ourselves. |
Me too! I used to pinch my siblings under the table with my toes and pick up things people dropped. |
Me too! I call it mom clock! |
4:44 for the last 10 years... |
Same! |

OP here. Thank you all for the responses! Interesting thread!
A few times, I have known when people would die within a few hours or days of the occurrence. Oddly, it’s when my connection to the person is not close or through marriage or total strangers, whereas I’ve been shocked when the people closest to me have died. I once met the mother of a friend who (as far as I knew) was in perfect health, and I can remember thinking she would die soon, and she passed three days later. |
Why is that so you think? Drives me nuts |
| I’m really good at noticing when someone’s prone to depression/verging on a depressive episode (even if they are not mentioning overt symptoms.) it’s a blessing and a curse, tbh. |
My late mom used to call me & point out the time - she said it was meaningful for her as it was her childhood house number - 521. She’d often remark that she’d wake up and see the digital display: 5:21. She died almost one year ago at 5:21/that was on her death certificate. |

I can sense a mood or vibe-nearly instantaneously-and act accordingly. I’m intuitive and highly sensitive.
Thus is the result of growing up in the midst of chaos with alcoholic parents - it’s a survival skill. |
