Birthday party on Inauguration Day/MLK- would your child be able to attend?

No, we’re not busy. I’m turning off the tv for four years and pretending this nightmare isn’t happening.

Nope. The day before possibly if we are in town. Trying to book it out of here for a few days.

MLK is a weird day to plan a kid birthday.

MLK day and the inauguration are on the same day.

Regardless of the holiday and the inauguration it is a day off from work and school, so some families may just want to use the day at home to chill, and not go out to yes, something that may be fun, but still is an obligation.

As a black person I just say MLK helped give me the right to sit my black self home on a holiday.

Man that is some cruel irony.

A lot of private sector companies work that day. So, no, mine wouldn’t attend. He was invited to a NYE birthday party this year. Some people were off and could take their kids but for many a party at 3pm on a Tuesday is inconvenient.

So, I’d say no. Save it for a weekend.

No, I have to work. Most people don't get MLK off.

Just don’t have it at the exact time of inauguration. I personally would not have a Monday party.

I once had a Halloween party on Columbus Day thinking everyone would be off. About half the kids came. Others were working or went out of town.
