Mine would yes.
I work the 20th but my kid is off so she could come.. |
| Never have a party on a Monday, no matter what day it is or what other events are happening that day. Even if we could technically make it, just no. |
Why? If it's a holiday, why is it worse than a Sunday? |
| Yes, if I had a 4th grader they would be available to attend both days. |
Not all employers let their employees off that day. And for those that do, the point of the day is to celebrate and reflect on MLK’s legacy. It just smacks of disrespect. |
No it doesn't. And I don't know any employers that dont give off mlk. |
Are you the PP, who said never have a party on any Monday? |
Inauguration is on MLK Day this year, so no "both days." |
| I wouldn’t have a party that day. Not all parents have the day off- many of the kids will be with a sitter/childcare or grandparents etc. Also many families will have plans since it is a 3 day weekend. |
| Sure. I usually try to plan doctor/dentist appointments on that day but it might work depending on the time. |
| No. |
NP - DH doesn't get MLK off, he works for a defense contractor, not in DC, and they have never done it for some reason. |
Not all parents have the day off on Saturdays or Sundays either, so I don’t see how this matters. Most will have an arrangement where a parent or sitter or carpool could probably work. A few won’t, just as people sometimes have weekend conflicts and have to send regrets. I think some people travel but not most. More travel over President’s Day. |
We are going to skip watching the orange man |
