Do you mind gifts from Costco?

The bequet caramels are amazing. Cost twice as much on their website.

There’s a specific % of Costco card members who are millionaires. It’s high too

Costco's core customer is well-educated and affluent. It's particularly popular among the well-educated and affluent in places like Silicon Valley.

And Manhattanites drive over to costcos too.

Cheese selection is great.

The Celtic Sea Salt ones in the green wrapper? Those are excellent.

I really love those special mangos they only have in February that no other stores seem to get- I assume they have a relationship with whatever farm grows them. My friends know this and bring them as a surprise. Anything that is exclusive to Costco would be fun. I don’t need something that I can get for myself at the grocery store.

They have great stuff around Lunar New Year in some of their stores.

Yes, those are them.

I think one of the problems with Costco gifts is that since so many people are members, we all recognize that it was from there, so it kind of takes the magic away.

There is something nice about getting a gift basket or something that you do not recognize and one that makes you wonder where it was from.

Great selection of Veuve Clicquot at Costco (Depending on the state). They have a 6 pack of bottles and a 6 liter bottle. They also do a basket with a bottle of Veuve, riedel champagne glasses, and a couple of other things for a good price.

why do wealthy people need/like Costco?

— a wealthy person who shops occasionally at Costco, but more at whole foods/target

My aunt and uncle gave me a Santa bag filled with popcorn from Costco and I was happy. I'd much rather have something edible than some other random gift.

—and yet you called it a “gift.” Try again.

How do you know if something is from Costco?

Sigh, I think I need to do that with all the toxic plastic toys we keep receiving.

But regarding Costco, I’d be happy if my kids grew up to be thrifty and didn’t throw away good money buying ridiculous expensive things year after year. But I also would not be happy to just receive cheap throwaway junk that screams “afterthought at the checkout aisle.” Maybe the Costco aspect was just the last straw in the perception of [a chronic pattern of] a lack of thoughtfulness

I was at a party last night and someone brought a Costco cheese platter with the most amazing herbed cheese. It was so so good!
