Do most school write letters to Santa?

High school elective seminar class on being socially current. In class assignment started off with students instructed to imagine they are beginning the process of coming out. Further details not provided in the article because that was enough to outrage the homophobic students, parents, and daily mail aficionados. The outrage became the story.

The War on Christmas Troll didn’t take long to show up.

George Washington

Now, it is African American History. No more George or Abe.

What a shame the other months were too full to fit in American history and dental health.

Isn’t it horrible how kids graduate from elementary school without ever having heard of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and … teeth?

Oh dear. Time for someone to go back to their troll bridge. Here’s some reading of the Grade 1 social studies curriculum featuring good ole George:

So, the most important "influential Virginians" are all African American?

We need to purge FCPS schools of literature authored by cisgender white males / dead white men.

But getting back to the thread topic, Christianity in schools is simply a violation of the separation of the Christian church and state.

Purging books by white male authors has already been happening for a few years now:

1. Not everyone is Christian
2. Even some Christians are anti-Santa (I grew up in a very religious household where Santa was shunned, bc according to my parents, Christmas should only be about Jesus).

What does being Christian have to do with perpetuating belief in Santa? I grew up in a house that included some Christmas traditions (tree, present, Santa) but no religious belief (parents agnostic/atheist). We do the same but we joke about Santa and did not encourage belief.

Re: the OP, I don't think it's appropriate for schools to encourage belief in Santa. FCPS is very diverse at this point and this would be weird.

Ummm, that’s not what it says, but sure. That was cute how you added in “most” when it’s not there.
If you have trouble with any of this, go talk to your governor. This is the standard for every single student in Virginia. This is not an FCPS standard but a Virginia standard.

Describe the stories of influential people and their contributions to Virginia, with emphasis on:
Maggie L. Walker
Arthur R. Ashe, Jr.
Lawrence Douglas Wilder
John Mercer Langston

You can add this to the agenda at your next meeting to take down public education. Do you even live in Fairfax County or have school-age children? Something tells me you don’t.

We need to purge the use of the prefix Cis to refer to men or women. According to the overwhelming majority who voted in this past elections, gender ideology is dying.

But getting back to the thread topic, check out this calendar and share how you feel about other heritages, celebrations, traditions, and religions being represented in FCPS. Or do you have an issue just with anything Christian? As you can see, the “inclusive” FCPS bunch shares your point of view because they left out anything Christian:

REVISED:
We need to purge the use of the prefix Cis to refer to men or women, and to supersede race over merit or talent . According to the overwhelming majority who voted in this past elections, gender ideology and racism are dying.

But getting back to the thread topic, check out this calendar and share how you feel about other heritages, celebrations, traditions, and religions being represented in FCPS. By no means my intent is to advocate for teaching about Santa during Christmas season in FCPS, I just want to point out the hypocrisy of the virtual signaling bunch who post here while calling anyone who doesn’t align with their thinking intolerant, Right-wing, MAGA, or what have you, all the while singling out the Christian faith and some traditions around Christmas, for some, as worth to be excluded from the FCPS calendar.
