Most BS thing ever said by a parent ever on this forum ... |
You don't know any parents like that? I live in a mid-SES area and know tons who are firmly in that camp. That said, our AART always encourages parents to at least fill out the paragraph referral. |
In our low-SES area base school district, getting into AAP means getting at least some education, as opposed to being the teaching aide for other people's kids. So no, we don't rely solely on the AART who may be a good person but doesn't care as much as we do about our kid. |
I know a lot of parents on this forum and elsewhere who feign lack of concern and brag about kid(s) getting into AAP without effort (and interestingly tend to hang around this forum, presumably only to brag to complete strangers). |
Omg, whhhhhhheeeen will we get the scores?

Either the end of the day today or after the referral deadline. So ridiculous. |
We lived in a high FARMs area and I had a similar mentality. I think most do. My kid got in with no effort from us. Then we moved to a more affluent high SES area and my second child did not get in. I assumed he would since he had perfect scores. We appealed and he got in. I now have a third child in second grade who has a higher NNAT than siblings. We haven’t gotten cogat bacj yet. I just filled out the referral form. Our school has many smart kids and in pool is top 10%. She got 141 on NNAT and expect 140+ cogat but that doesn’t mean she will be top 10% at our school. In our old high FARMs school, she would of course have been in pool. |
Seriously!!! How long did NNAT take? Not this long! |
NNAT result took less than one month
