Has anyone actually received cogat score?

Yeah right. Fake news.

So last year there was no emails regarding Cogat and the way people found out was to keep checking ParentVue?

How about in pool letters?

Correct. Last year the COGAT scores were posted on ParentVue the morning of 12/15. The day before (on 12/14 at around 3:00 PM) in-pool notification ("Universal Screener Referral") emails were sent to only those that were in-pool. The emails did not say what the actual score was - just that your kid was in pool.

I believe some people found out earlier via letters home in their kids backpack. But most people found out on ParentVue on 12/15.

The 15th is Sunday this year, hopefully we can know before then. Again, they never said that the score would come before the deadline anyway.

Last year, 12/15 was the last school day before winter break; this year, the last school day before winter break is 12/20. One hopes that they won't hold on to the scores so parents can't contact the school if they have questions, but the notification schedule only says parents will find out "before winter break." https://www.fcps.edu/academics/student-tests-assessments/grade-level-tests

You think the strategy is to give the parents no time to call the school so they give scores the day before winter break?

Local level IV, but that's not a distinct category from level IV, it's just whether your kid goes to the base school (local) versus the center (center-based).

Maybe PP meant principal placed? Or maybe PP applied for fall and there's not an option to switch to the center for some weird reason? It doesn't make sense.

I’ll bet PP is at an ES that is currently phasing in LLIV and has lots of kids going to a center school.

Absolutely! They do this with a lot of data. And I totally get it.

It's kind of like the Friday afternoon data dumps that certain governments have been known to do.

Well, there is something twisted about holding onto the information for so long. Yes, parents can provide referrals, but they are time-consuming, and I might prefer to save my additional information in case of an appeal. These computer-based test scores should not be so slow to come out. When administered online, CogAT scores are available immediately or within a few days (including "norming"). Any additional time to process is based on FCPS internal procedures and policies.

How do you even make it through the day? I hope you’re setting aside a few minutes to eat in between writing that half page of information. Strength to you, sister!

Wtf? It is definitely time consuming if you're doing it right!

Don't do the bolded. Just don't do it. Give the best presentation you can of your kid now, just like your AART should be trying to do. That way you hopefully don't have to appeal.

And FCPS will definitely wait until Friday before a break to release information where possible. They love giving AAP admissions information on the Friday right before spring break. To be fair, given that it's 6 teachers from a random school determining if your kid is in AAP or not, it's not fair for your school or central office to be flooded with calls about AAP status and appeals. And similarly given that central office does the in-pool numbers, it's not fair for say your kids' second grade teacher or the testing coordinator at your school to get complaints about the timing of the emails. So they try to minimize the possibility that people will call.
