| Super Y was not a good experience last year. Of all the practices and games I think our daughter went to 5 maybe six sessions because of cancellations and standard vacations. Parents were angry there was no make ups for cancellations. |
My kid did Super Y U11, U12, and U13. Our club only cancelled practice once or twice over these three seasons, so we never had issues with cancellations. That seems to be isolated to clubs that are using certain fields I guess. That was not my experience. And it's summer, so of course it's hot. I don't know when it became bad to let kids be outside during the summer. Practices are late in the day, so it truly isn't that bad. It's no different than playing in August at the beginning of fall season, so not sure why it would be a concern. Anyway, we had no concerns with overuse because it's only two practices per week and maybe a game or two. And it's only 6-8 weeks. You come and go as you please - summer vacations and all. So it truly isn't nonstop soccer unless you want it to be. I like the low stress environment and it's fun for the kids. And avoids having to kind random soccer activities for them. But unlikely to do it past U14 for the reasons other PP have already stated. |
