Binge watching it with my elderly mother (my dad died just a few yearws ago).
It is lovely and funny. It gets 90 percent rotten tomatoes and I can see why. I love Ted Danson. What a career. I think I will go back and watch some Cheers episodes and introduce them to my teenagers. |
His voice is so soothing. I'm enjoying his podcast. |

Thanks PP. Didnt know he had one. Will listen.

| I keep meaning to listen. It’s with Woody, right? It sounds like woody shows up when he pleases. I think it’s awesome that they are friends all these years later |
Ditto. I watched two episodes because I really wanted to love it (love Ted Danson, love the Good Place team) but it was just boring |
OK, you guys convinced me to try it again (I also stopped after 2 episodes). The Good Place is one of my favorite all time shows. It was just kind of hard for me because my mom lived many years in a memory care facility - it makes me sad. |
My DH recognized her immediately, I did not. We are a few episodes in and I love this so much. |
Nobody watched Gilmore Girls? |
|
My husband and I loved it as did my 86 year old parents.
I recognized Sally Struthers right away because of watching All in the Family with my parents as a kid lol. And the sad kids commercials. If you were bored the first few episodes try a few more. |
| Adding, my 86 yo parents were very relieved the show didn't make the cast into caricatures of old folks. |
| Season 2 is out. Anyone watching? |
Yes. It’s very light and lightly plotted, like last season, but kind of enjoyable in the same low key way. No violence, no suspense. Amusing and soothing. |
| I loved season 1. And love Ted Danson. His podcast is the best. |
Yes - already binged. I'm sad my kids will never know about Sam & Diane, but they truly don't care. Like I don't care about 6-7. Anyway Ted Danson is a treasure. |

I am watching this show today.
It's like an Only Murders in the Building but I love the nursing/retirement/assisted living home setting. I'm in my 60s and it makes me sort of sanguine about the idea of abandoning this freaking giant 19 room property for a cool room with housekeeping, I've always liked hotel rooms, but we have to get my son and my foreign DIL here first, and that unhappily doesn't seem like it's a promising prospect today. The show itself is very lighthearted but can also make you cry. And I love seeing Sally Struthers again. |
