Is writing in a silly name on a ballot illegal?

I know you think it is cute, but election workers have to deal with your "cute idea" by following serious procedures.

PLEASE don't write in silly names or your friends or family.

Sit down. I am an election worker too and I encourage people to do what they want. It’s my job to follow the procedures which easily account for this.

I personally would be careful writing in “Butt Head” as it may be mistaken for placing a vote for Trump. 😜

I’m voting for DCUM!

Can’t be any sillier than the names already on the ballot

Won’t be surprised if Jimmy Carter gets a few million votes this time around.

Is this illegal or just foolish?

Are you seriously this stupid?

You can write in any name you want FFS

+1

It scares me how stupid people are.

Harris and Trump are not the only people running for president. Why didn't you pick one of those options in write them in?

One year I voted for Ralph Nader. No way was I voting for those other Bozos.

And that's a valid choice. It's a choice that makes sense to me. Though I have primarily voted Democrat or Republican I don't believe they are the only parties entitled to votes. If your state allows you to write in a candidate why not write in an actual candidate? You know in advance you are not in favor of the candidates from the two major parties why not look at the others in write them in? Why write in nonsense when you have the opportunity to support someone else? I don't understand it.

I am the one who voted for Ralph Nader.

I think you need to brush up on your history. My god, it was only 24 years ago. Ralph Nader was the *actual* candidate on the presidential ballot in 2000. I could not vote for either Bozo Gore or Bozo Bush. Ralph Nader was the logical choice.

Sounds like you shouldn’t be an election worker.
