Is writing in a silly name on a ballot illegal?

I know you think it is cute, but election workers have to deal with your "cute idea" by following serious procedures.

PLEASE don't write in silly names or your friends or family.

Curious where you’re located. I am an election officer in Fairfax County and we don’t have to do any Special with the write ins other than to print out the tape from the ballot scanning machine (I wrote the post a few above here).

What is it that you have to do differently for the write in votes?

So, why bother even showing up if you aren't going to vote?

You are so stupid you shouldn’t be allowed in a polling place.

Careful, the MAGA ballot counters may likely count it as vote for Trump given how they idolize him and it matches how Trump views himself.

+1
When Hogan wrote in Reagan last presedential election, I lost all respect for him.

Absolutely!

It is foolish and immature and ultimately fruitless.

It demonstrates that they don't realize how privileged they are to have the ability to vote.

I'd also wager that 0% of those people do anything that matters to get the choices they'd like on the ballot.

Ahh the canvassing poster has made an appearance. You going to berate people in here too?

I wrote in someone running in many states but not my own because I wanted to have a chance to vote for this party in my state in the future.

Says you who both sides Trump and Harris to the point where you leave the election up to chance.

Look in the mirror, babe.

Harris and Trump are not the only people running for president. Why didn't you pick one of those options in write them in?

You are making a fool of yourself. You must suffer from DCUM Regional Privilege where you think everyone around you thinks and votes just.like.you.

Clearly, pp doesn't care who gets in, so she may as well ue her vote to perhaps further the chances of a party that does align with her beliefs .

And that's a valid choice. It's a choice that makes sense to me. Though I have primarily voted Democrat or Republican I don't believe they are the only parties entitled to votes. If your state allows you to write in a candidate why not write in an actual candidate? You know in advance you are not in favor of the candidates from the two major parties why not look at the others in write them in? Why write in nonsense when you have the opportunity to support someone else? I don't understand it.
