My parents are in south Hillsborough, inside mandatory evacuation.

There really is a good chance that this turns out to be a bad tropical storm. That's not ideal and it will mess A LOT of things up but given the context, a lot more manageable and a stroke of good luck needed to FL.
That being said, it doesn't stop other storms and those in the next years from hitting with bad luck to anywhere on the FL gulf coastline. I don't see why people stay. It's like - they count their blessings and take the good luck to mean it will always be alright - until it isn't one day. Humans are just total fools. |
^Wind shear will really kick it down approaching landfall wherever it lands. |
That will only impact the winds it will not impact the storm surge at all. Anyone living on Tampa Bay needs to prepare for total loss. |
Nowhere us anyone saying it will be downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it hits Tampa Bay! What are you talking about? It will lose some intensity due to wind shear, but not down to a tropical storm. The storm surge is going to be the major issue and that’s already churning due to the intensity of the storm. That will not be reduced…… |
