She’s better off dropping ECNL, spending time on studies and playing HS soccer (if she cares too). |

Yeah -- that will not work. If you do not want to play in college on the gils side you should not be in ECNL. That is the whole purpose of ECNL. If she is tired of the grind quit now and have a life. Most kids playing ECNL love soccer. |

Same schedule x4/ week with Thanksgiving and Xmas week off. |
Way to take minutes from kids who actually want to play soccer in college. Typical Loudoun entilement parenting here. |
I think if the kids want to and are good enough to play ECNL and the family can afford it, whether or not they want to play in college is irrelevant. Everyone journey is different. No one is taking a way anyone playing time. IF your kids aren't getting minutes, focus on how to get better. |
That’s a stretch |
Depends what you mean by academics. And what you mean by playing in college. McLean and Bethesda traditionally placed most into Ivies. McLean (FVU) has recently been sending folks to top D3s from ECNL teams (not a bad option if just want to "play"). Ivies and D3s offer no money but they will help you get in if you are a good student and a good athlete. |
Please stop crediting the clubs for these results! FVU and BSC don’t have some magic dust or connections to Ivies. It’s simply that more kids who live in Bethesda and McLean (the zip codes not the soccer clubs) go to Ivies for reasons having nothing to do with soccer. So of course the soccer teams these kids play on also have more just like McLean and Bethesda high schools send more kids to Ivies than high schools elsewhere. |
