Uh, no. $200K is like top 5% of individual earners. And since business owners are disproportionally represented among high-earners, the percentage of "jobs" (which is what the OP asked about) that pay $200K is less than 5%. As an example, notwithstanding the $700K HHI lawyers that post here, the median income for an attorney in the US is still $135K according to the BLS.

$200K is still a big accomplishment.

First year lawyers in DC start at $140 - $260, plus bonus, according to Glass Door. That is fresh out of law school with zero layering skills.

Only big law. The average lawyer salary in the US is about 135. Most lawyers are not big law.

We're in DC. DCUM.

Why are people so intentionally obtuse about this? This is like saying that being a basketball player is a great career because the average NBA salary is $10M per year. OK, but players in the minor leagues earn $40K per year. And some won't cut it and will need to coach HS basketball instead of becoming a multi-millionaire. And some will need to give it a shot in the Turkey to earn a better salary. And on and on.

The median income in DC is only like $85k. $200k jobs do not grow on trees despite what DCUM says
