Doctor, lawyer, nurse practitioner or nurse anaesthetist, accountant, dentist, executive above lower middle management, therapist, banker—get a good graduate degree. Those jobs all pay >$200K.

Sure.

There are a lot of law schools and a lot of graduates.

So, that's not a lot of "right out of law school" people in the grand scheme of all the graduates.

I always wonder about this. Would it be a good career for a very senior attorney looking for a complete change of pace?

How good were you at building a book of business?

It’s a lot of nights and weekends, and you’re always available to clients. You have to hustle for clients especially in the beginning.

I am a lawyer but for me being a Realtor would keep the parts of my job I hate and lose the parts I like, so it wouldn’t work for me at all.

Sales are really hit or miss. I used to think everyone killed it in sales but those are only the successful ones. The good sales people we know all make 500k+. They are very generous, social and everyone likes them.

Unfortunately not. It’ll be just over $195K. Probably won’t break $200K until 2027.
