It's hard to deny it if he gets hit with a subpoena for paternity testing

He is claiming paternity. Publicly. A guy who does that is not the guy who would make a woman sue him, etc. He will be in this kid's life. That's the only good in this situation.

I wonder if they will guilt the kids into being close to the half sister

I think the girls are minors? They may not have the choice. I understand exactly what you mean.

18, 15 and 10.

They will never know this kid.

My brother who is 12 years older went to college when I was 6, i never met him really until I was 18 and I went to visit him in his new city. So he came home for xmas for a few days BFD.

That he was having sex outside his marriage. Obviously, he's a rock star, with all the trappings that come with that. And perhaps women who are married to rock stars have different rules about fidelity. I'm only talking about his infidelity from my crush perspective.

I’m shocked he didn’t have a vasectomy or use a condom or both! He is a rock star, he is not clueless. Cheating is bad enough but now there is a reminder of the cheating in his wife’s face for the next 18 years. How could he be so stupid?

Please. Alcohol, weed, harder drugs, plain old arrogance, "I thought I pulled out in time," "It feels better bareback," blah blah to infinity. Stupid? Absolutely. But PP, why so shocked? Nothing shocking about his getting someone pregnant. It's sad, though, that the good guy persona he's had for decades did not extend to fidelity.

You mean lifetime. Even adult kids are in their parent's lives..Thanksgivings, graduations, etc

The Ghrols are not inviting that kid over for Thanksgiving or going to their graduation. The kid is going to grow up as a meal ticket for mom with no father

Of course. But they will have to interact particularly if there is shared custody

Why would there be shared custody? Do you think his wife and daughters want to be around a reminder of Dad's affair?

I assume they don't. But, if he wants to be in the baby's life what do you think that looks like? Assuming they 'forgive' him and the wife does not divorce him.

I think it looks like mentioning the kid in interviews when he's directly asked and nothing more. I think the wife stays for the same reason the other woman had the kid- money.

I am absolutely crushed by this… Such a big fan not so much of his music actually but HIM. he’s just so charismatic and talented. And I was in love with Taylor Hawkins too.

I don’t think his cheating will come as a surprise to his wife. If you’ve ever gone down any Reddit rabbit holes on Dave it is well known that he steps out from time to time. I just figured they had an arrangement with some stipulations. I’m not saying I would go for that, but I just figured she wanted to keep the family together and seems from his book that he really does love her and absolutely adores being a dad.

This goes beyond that… But I would be shocked if she really thought that he was being faithful all these years according to what was out there about him.

This sucks for her though because she does seem like she’s very private. And I’m sure it’s tough on his girls.

You don't even know what city or country this child is.

He will visit the child but the child will not come to his home to live for periods of time.

His youngest will be off to college by the time the kid is 8 anyway. The 2nd oldest by the time the kid is 3.

Doubtful. Is he going to bring the mistress and child on family outings? If he doesn't get divorced his wife and current family will want nothing to do with that kid

But what if they stay together and he shares custody for holidays etc? It isn't the baby's fault!

It isn’t the baby’s fault but it isn’t his daughters’ responsibility either. His choice has basically ruined the dynamic of their family. They have zero obligation to be accepting to the child he fathered outside of his marriage to their mother.

Ugh, what a sleazeball. I don’t judge people who have open marriages or any kind of arrangement but to have a baby is so careless and hurtful to your family.

I don't disagree. But, they are still related so they may not be so hard hearted as many people here

Let's just call her mistress that's nice.

Yes I do, the child is not coming to his house for his wife to care for, that would be insane.
