Is there a small riot going on right now in City Center DC ???

There was no exclusivity already with Travis Kelce and Brittney Mahomes….

On topic, and I pushed back against a lot of the “rioting” talk in 2020 as racially problematic from my older white conservative colleagues, but it sure is convenient the only place in the city that could be used to protest was in a very high end shopping center. BLM or Freedom Plaza not available at three am? Stopping traffic on 395 not in the mix? 🤔

I hope they don't close all the nice shops now. Even though I can't afford to shop there, I like to window shop.

Speak for yourself. Looting, assault, attempted murder, and arson aren't exactly doing wonders for civilization. To you it's a bunch of gucci bags. To others it's a breakdown in the rules and norms and public order that human beings need for society to function safely for everyone. I hope "The Government" prosecutes these people hard.

It hurts the businesses in those areas (including employees who work there and people who shop there). It negatively affects residents and tourists who want to enjoy the area. It creates a downward spiral of crime. Insurance premiums go up for all sorts of businesses. Police officers (who aren’t all evil despite some narratives) are putting their own safety in danger.

But it feels good to try to act morally superior by making this about consumerism so people will tout this garbage while patting themselves heartily on the back.

ok, MAGA.

Dems don't want safety and security in their communities?

Seriously. Robbing Gucci has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter. Cut it out.

Black Lives Matter is synonymous with looting. Inseparable.

I want my community secured from Dems. They’re the ones committing the crime where I live.

Can you start by explain how this counts as a "protest?" What did Gucci do that they are protesting?

Because racism…… or something.

Street reparations.

Are you kidding!?!?!

Dems can’t win elections WITHOUT riots. I expect to see more going into October. The activist-class is just waiting on the next criminal-martyr to become a cause celeb after doing something stupid.

There's no direct evidence that this crime spree was related to any kind of protest. Whether they were mad at a shooting or mad at something else or just wanted to commit a bunch of crimes, none of that reflects on the people in SE who were protesting the shooting. There's no direct link between the two. Stop mixing them together.

Looting is a form of political expression.

BLM is even more synonymous with improperly using “charitable” donations to make questionable flashy real estate purchases for the benefit of BLM insiders.

Why not a deportation fund?

Protestors can be heard yelling “Don’t Shoot, I’m Sleep” in the background.

There's your direct evidence.

Someone shouting in the background means there's a protest?

If your point is that these people where using Justin's shooting as a justification for their looting, I agree with you. But if your point is that they chose last night at random to do their looting, completely unrelated to the shooting, I disagree with you -- for whatever reason, these people want to connect their looting to the shooting.

I'm just saying it's not a protest and the people using this as an excuse to tar the actual protesters in SE are arguing in bad faith to further a political position. The person who originally recorded this video (https://x.com/_anthonypeltier/status/1833555661575406024) has already retracted his caption suggesting this was a protest because even he didn't have any evidence of that beyond 1 person shouting a slogan.
