2020 called and wants its absolutely horrible takes back. |
Fires, injuries, robberies and arrests - a poor legacy for a violence interrupter. Shame on them. |
Speak for yourself. Looting, assault, attempted murder, and arson aren't exactly doing wonders for civilization. To you it's a bunch of gucci bags. To others it's a breakdown in the rules and norms and public order that human beings need for society to function safely for everyone. I hope "The Government" prosecutes these people hard. |
| There's no justice in the world until everybody has a Gucci bag. |
| Can I get a free Gucci bag? I promise to silently protest for Justin in my mind every time I wear it. |
The sad part is that you think any of these looters care one bit about Justin or about any claimed police misconduct. |
| When we were in Italy this summer, clerks at the Gucci store in Florence said that the brand had been devalued because of the US looters. There is no exclusivity if you see a gangbanger with a Gucci bag. |
|
| Can we stop using the word protest when it is a crime spree and not a protest? |
This sounds like it was mostly peaceful. |
Seriously. Robbing Gucci has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter. Cut it out. |
+1 It hurts the businesses in those areas (including employees who work there and people who shop there). It negatively affects residents and tourists who want to enjoy the area. It creates a downward spiral of crime. Insurance premiums go up for all sorts of businesses. Police officers (who aren’t all evil despite some narratives) are putting their own safety in danger. But it feels good to try to act morally superior by making this about consumerism so people will tout this garbage while patting themselves heartily on the back. |
| How can I contribute to a bail fund for these protestors like I did last time? |
This. No way would I buy or wear a designer logo bag. In the US they are associated with theft and ghetto culture. |
Why aren’t you out there protesting with them? |
