The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday at the South Valley Park in the 19000 block of Watkins Mill Road, behind Watkins Mill Elementary School in Montgomery Village. A youth football game was reportedly taking place when the shooting occurred.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 5:42 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a shooting occurred between two groups of people. A 17-year-old male was struck by a bullet and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Vehicles were also struck by bullets. More information will be released as it becomes available. This is an active and ongoing investigation. There is no suspect in custody at this time, and this is believed to be an isolated incident.”

a) This was a youth football game not a HS football game
b) it was not a MCPS related
c) Could have happened anywhere.

No, it’s not MCPS kids.
They have had youth football games at that location involving teams from PG, DC, NoVa and others.

Dave and busters (and Rio overall) has become a place I wouldn't let kids hang out on a Friday. Same goes for Bethesda and Rockville

Hope you let them out of their cage when they are 18.
