other than Friday night lights

For HS students, what's there to do on Friday nights other than attend a HS football game? Yes it's tradition to attend HS football games. Anything else to do in a social group setting? Exchange student.

A tiny percentage of the student body attended games at my kid's MCPS high school. It's not really a thing here, and if it is it's a handful of home games in the fall.

My kids are much more likely to spend the evening wandering a downtown area, ending up at chipotle (always chipotle), watching a school play, going to a basketball game (better attendance!) or going to someone's house to hang out.

Neither of my kids went to games. They did a million other things with friend's.

One of my kids and his friends will go see plays of other schools, but yes it’s a matter of stringing together a lot of events each of which happen a few times a year. Football is a handful of home games too.

We see a lot of groups of teens at Rio Lakefront on Friday nights. There’s a movie theater there and a Dave and Busters plus restaurants. I’m sure some kids still go to the mall to hang out.

They go out to eat, go to the mall, walk around downtown bethesda or Rio, hang out at each others houses, play online video games. I’m sure some go to parties and drink but my kids don’t.

School games were/are not a thing with my kids. They never went and youngest, who is still in high school, will probably never go. They walk around the downtown, get food, hang out with friends, play DnD and video games.

Are plays on Friday nights?
Our school is big on theater but it's still far from a popular thing for students to go see u less a sibling is involved with theater

Dave and busters (and Rio overall) has become a place I wouldn't let kids hang out on a Friday. Same goes for Bethesda and Rockville
