I was on campus recently and that new, needed building going up is a hulking piece of BLAH. This is like the third building project in a row that is a total miss.
They should hire whoever is doing the really lovely airy new buildings at JHU. |
I remember the days when they were just short of an Ivy, in the same league as Duke |
Yeah, Georgetown has fallen so far from it's glory days. (/sarc again) I wonder what it's acceptance rate would be like if it took Common App and offered ED like Duke and most of the Ivies. |

Lol |
Georgetown had a few glory years when they had a good basketball team. But alas those days are gone. |
They can't afford Hopkins' building plan |
| Georgetown has SFS and business. It's not the 80s anymore. Pointless to go unless those are your concentrations. Otherwise, it's rich kid dilettantes slumming it at a poor school. |
Yes, I am in a similar profession. We have told our kids no private colleges unless they get merit aid. We want to pay for college and grad school and this is what we have saved for. We don't vacation, we live way under our means and save for college. No big fancy expensive house in a good school district either. See how that works. |
| Our aid received from Georgetown was right on par with an Ivy and Midd. |
They don't have Bloomberg as an alum. That man has basically rebuilt Hopkins and funded 1/2 the undergrads. |
