NYC to spend 9 Billion in 2024/2025 to house Migrants!

Wowza.

I am not sure why NYC is allowing the migrant freebie program to continue. NYC was never a city hurting with lack of immigrants or lack of tourism or underpopulation.

NYC didn’t suffer a fledgling economy and in fact, most of these migrants don’t even work or contribute to the economy. From what I hear, they drink and ride scooters all day and make New Yorkers uncomfortable with their stares and loud music at night hours when people are sleeping to go to work.

seriously?? I gotta see this where is the link?

For a sense of scale, the annual budget of New York City is about $1 billion.

Would OP prefer that these folks be left unhoused on the streets?

NP. YES!

The US government for more than 15 years has refused to allow her mother (still in the Philippines) to come to this country to visit her daughter and grandchildren on the grounds that she might not leave once here. Even when my brother goes personally to the US embassy in the Philippines. Yet my SIL gets to pay NYC taxes to support the illegals.WTF is wrong with this picture.

Easy Peasy. Buy a plane ticket from Manila to Mexico City and pay a coyote to bring your mother across the border like 50-75% of the illegal migrants are currently doing now.

because the former hates paying full price. A lot of this is about cheap labor.

And that goes for both parties. Corporations rule in this country.

So migrants are costing the city about 1/2 the entire public safety budget per year. This does not include healthcare and education for these migrants.

Think of what NYC or the NYPD could do with an extra 4.5 billion per year?

How about fix the crappy roads and dangerous bridges. How about building wetter schools for the existing kids there!

We need to spend money on improving NYC and other city, not fund free everything for migrants as the cities fall into disrepair.!!!!

Adding a congestion tax will pay for the roads and lower traffic volumes.

You can change the standards for graduation and improve the matriculation rate. Not everyone needs algebra or geometry to vote for Democrats.

LOL NY has some of the highest taxes in the country. Tax them so more. When will enough be enough.

But then you'd have to SEE them on your way to Times Square. I know how that offends you.

If you total up the amount being spent by all localities across the country on the millions of illegal migrants that Biden/Harris have allowed in, we could probably house every homeless citizen and feed every hungry family in the US.

Won’t be long before people are revolting here like they are in England and Ireland. There’s only so much one can take.

But that will never happen. It would be deemed “socialism” or “radical.” Nice though, but will never happen.

DP, but if the freebies get turned off, they will stop coming. They are not coming so that they can sit on a curb in El Paso. They are coming because they will get hotels and cash cards.

Look at all of the European countries with the huge surge of immigrants coming as well leading to violent crime and sexual assaults. There is currently chaos in parts of the UK right now because the British are fed up with the immigration. It all seems intentional and coordinated.

Well, for starters, the border wasn’t “opened up”. I hope that addresses your questions.

So what do you call it when you allow millions of people to pour into this country? Does it really matter at this point what phrase you use? Look at what is happening in NYC!

They weren’t “allowed” they did it illegally.

And Joe and Kamala did nothing to stop them. In fact they made it easier when Joe signed all those EOs his first days in office.

Ok, totally fabricated alternate reality.

NP. Please, please explain to me how this is "totally fabricated alternate reality." The Trump administration implemented policies to staunch the flow of illegal migrants across the border, and the Biden administration undid those policies as soon as it possibly could. Situations like the migrant crisis in NYC ensued.

Not sure how you can conclude from these articles in a composite that Biden is far better for reducing illegal immigration than Trump.

We have joked about doing just that the past 3+ years since Biden/Harris opened the floodgates but alas we are law-abiding people.

Then, they shouldn't be begging the federal government for funding to help house and care for the migrants.
