Good. We need more immigrants. Vote blue, all the way down!

How about we welcome more legal immigrants???

Yes, I am a legal immigrant who came here 20 years ago and followed the rules. We can’t keep letting millions of illegals here with no job skills and not being able to fully vet their pasts. We can’t even take care of the homeless citizens we have now. How are we supposed to take care of 4-7 million migrants who have already come here?

Close the damn border.

My SIL is a legal immigrant from the Philippines living in NYC. The US government for more than 15 years has refused to allow her mother (still in the Philippines) to come to this country to visit her daughter and grandchildren on the grounds that she might not leave once here. Even when my brother goes personally to the US embassy in the Philippines. Yet my SIL gets to pay NYC taxes to support the illegals.WTF is wrong with this picture.

There are no stoops in Times Square and surrounding midtown streets.

I meant Hell’s Kitchen, west of 8th and 9th avenues, plenty of stoops there. I grew up there, and there were always people sitting on stoops.

Opening up the borders was clearly intentional but I want to know why. Is their plan to eventually allow them to vote so they can only grow their voting base or is it something else? Look at all of the European countries with the huge surge of immigrants coming as well leading to violent crime and sexual assaults. There is currently chaos in parts of the UK right now because the British are fed up with the immigration. It all seems intentional and coordinated.

The ruling class loves cheap labor
because the former hates paying full price. A lot of this is about cheap labor.

I suspect you are correct about this.

“Migrant” and “illegal migrant” seem to be used interchangeably by the xenophobes on this thread.

What is full price? If it’s above minimum wage, it’s legal. The rest is what the market will bear. Sucks that old fat white guy thinks he should be paid 75 bucks an hour to paint based only on his heritage and language skills. I routinely find better quality work at 25-30/hr and all I have to do is speak some broken Spanish.

Some are legal, some have illegal status. Simple.

The ones who have been released on parole and have court dates are legal migrants with papers.

The ones who crossed the border and were never caught, have illegal status as they never were process for asylum claims and have no court date. They can be anyone.

So yes, some have legal status, some have illegal immigrstion starts.

Nothing xenophobic about stating facts.

The entire NYPD budget it about 11 billion per year!!

So migrants are costing the city about 1/2 the entire public safety budget per year. This does not include healthcare and education for these migrants.

Think of what NYC or the NYPD could do with an extra 4.5 billion per year?

How about fix the crappy roads and dangerous bridges. How about building wetter schools for the existing kids there!

We need to spend money on improving NYC and other city, not fund free everything for migrants as the cities fall into disrepair.!!!!

Adding a congestion tax will pay for the roads and lower traffic volumes.

You can change the standards for graduation and improve the matriculation rate. Not everyone needs algebra or geometry to vote for Democrats.

I have an honest question about that.

I thought the point of sanctuary cities was to house migrants and not ship them off to the feds. Why the sudden change of heart when this was a policy all along?

Well, for starters, the border wasn’t “opened up”. I hope that addresses your questions.

No but there are Jersey barriers around Times Square and on the side streets with the theaters. That's where they hang out and intimidate people into giving them money. Just as the crime rate was going down, Adams imported another class of criminals.
