Superintendent Taylor

The previous chief safety officer was Pam Wheeler-Taylor. She reported to Dana Edwards, District Operations, who reported into then-COO Brian Hull.

Before Wheeler-Taylor, Ed Clarke held the position for many years. He was fired, however, for failing to report serious incidents: https://parentscoalitionmc.blogspot.com/2023/08/breaking-mcps-chief-safety-officer-ed.html?m=1

Clarke actually retired in 2023, according to the BOE resolution from a couple weeks ago:

How wonderfully corrupt. They fired him from the chief safety officer job and parked him in a made-up HR job so he could retire with full benefits. This is why people hate MCPS. It’s irretrievably broken.

Exactly, should have a much better idea of how he is at the job by say 12/1. Check back in then.

While I agree, a new superintendent should be shown grace before assessing their every move, the same mentality wasn't shown to MM. Double standard!

He needs to step up his game. School is starting.

Sure, but it's a different context with Taylor being new to working at MCPS. McKnight had been deputy, then acting, then interim super for three years by the time she became superintendent, plus she had worked at MCPS for most of her career before that.

And those three years included the height of the pandemic, so things were pretty chaotic.

Schools should be 1/3 black, 1/3 white, and 1/3 Hispanic...the ideal mix. Currently they are nowhere close to that.

Why? Those are not the demographics in MoCo.
