So secure in fact that she’s helping her husband campaign on a platform that would make life hell for other women and minorities!!! Yay, Usha!!!! Slay girl boss!!!

Yeah you seem like a gal who should be teaching a class on respecting women. LOL

I mean yeah, I guess. I’m not married to a guy who says that abused women should stay with their husbands so in that regard I’m more qualified than her.

This kind of exemplifies why this place is nuts. Until Monday, Usha could have been a frequent DCUM poster: DC lawyer mom with three small kids and a husband who seems pretty focused on his own career and seems to have evolved in a pretty negative way through the years. But suddenly this (mostly) normal person is getting all this criticism that she did not put enough makeup on to deal with the convention and TV lights? C'mon I have been clicking on some of your fashion links for years. Let me say I am skeptical that the vast majority of DCUM posters would have made better fashion choices in the same circumstances.

There is a difference between the scenarios you are describing. My coworker with three little kids and a shitty husband doesn’t wear makeup to work? Fine. No qualms from me, do whatever you want.

Woman - whose husband’s party has some pretty regressive views about women - goes on stage at a televised convention with no makeup and ratty hair? No one is calling her a troll just saying what was she thinking.

Her dress was fine. But yes I would’ve gotten a blow out and at least put on more than lip balm to sell America on why they should vote for my misogynist husband who complains about other women being “frumpy cat ladies.”

This place is nuts because the poster you quoted *checks notes* said she was fresh faced and that TV and stage lighting wouldn’t be as forgiving on them?

She actually could have looked fine in person. She likely *was* wearing makeup. That's the point. It happens even to celebrities where they look nice at the event but terrible on TV.

She was a regularish person on Monday. This place is nuts because you are criticizing her makeup on Wednesday night even though normal people don’t know how to put on makeup for the big lights. Look at all of you acting like you would have done it better.

Neither her nor any other woman in her shoes needs to change their style to meet fashion forum's standards.

You think he was just asked Monday afternoon? He was probably asked weeks ago. She had ample time to get a makeup artist and hairstylist. They are worth millions. The “I’m just a mom like you” act is just that, an act, so that you think her husband is harmless. Don’t fall for it.

Nah, put me in the camp that thinks Trump kept all those a** kissers stringing along until the last possible minute to feed his own ego.

She was probably a top student with tiger parents who was focused on becoming valedictorian and national merit scholar, getting into an ivy, SAT, getting into law school, LSAT, law school, internships, bar exam, clerkships, job, marriage, children, husband's career, aging parents etc. No time for frivolous make up, plastic surgery and fashion magazines.
