| Part of the problem is that teachers are treated like dogs in mcps |
Afford? I would get a pay raise if I left MCPS for a private school. MCPS caps the entry step for new employees with a Master’s. 20 years of experience = a higher salary in a private school than MCPS. |
Then that’s an easy choice. For others who have had their whole careers in MCPS, it would be a substantial pay cut. |
The cut-off date to move within MCPS is noon on July 22 (it is officially July 20th, but that is a Saturday). |
| You can ask to be let out of your contract. I think that they will be pretty lax on this, given the high number of involuntary transfers so late in the year. |
Who do I ask? HR? My principal? |
Call ERSC. |
| Mcps is an unhealthy place to be as it has no support of teachers and actively blames them instead of hurting the feelings if some really deranged students. |
Is is for all staff? |
|
It takes alot of courage to say that the way teachers are treated these days is not right
Its best just to walk away from a toxic profession. The stress is very unhealthy. |
| You can resign at any time past July 15 or not. Doesn’t matter. State of Md may take your license but if you’re getting out of teaching it wouldn’t matter |
| How is the teacher inventory for '24-25? |
Take a look at the mcps hiring site. |
