A former MVA teacher still hoping to find something that lets you work from home?

You are gross

There's at least a couple teachers that threatened to quit, but there's no sign they went through with it.

You have no idea why they threatened to quit but you automatically assume it's because they want to work from home in their pajamas. Get a life.

They've been pretty clear that's what they want. They're explicitly looking for WFH jobs.

And you have no idea why they may wish to work from home. Just like millions of other remote employees in the country. Try and keep up. It’s 2024z

Then they should quit and get different jobs, rather than continuing to try to make schools worse for their own convenience.

What they do next is none of your business. Why are you so obsessed with people who have absolutely nothing to do with you? It's bizarre.

Agreed, but what they're doing, and attempting to do, within MCPS is my business.

Former MVA people who left MCPS aren't trying to do anything that affects you. They are done with MCPS so nothing they do anymore is your business. Give. It. Up.

You just want to post your oso clever WFH in PJs quips that got old 2 minutes into the pandemic. You're so tired and boring.

Are they done with MCPS? Some were still trying to resurrect MVA last night, which would mean cutting funding and teachers from other programs.

Is there a cutoff date for internal transfers? Meaning transferring from one position to a position at a different school site within MCPS?

Are you still able to transfer if you interviewed before July 15 and are still waiting on a decision from the school that you interviewed with?

You are in iffy territory. If the school wanted you, they should have been hustling to get the offer done on 7/15. You might need approval of your current principal now.

Unless it's a promotion, you'll need permission from your principal

It’s outside of MCPS or even Maryland public schools so I don’t need anyone’s permission. No different than the teachers that leave in the middle of the school year.

Sorry,

This was in response to "Are you still able to transfer if you interviewed before July 15 and are still waiting on a decision from the school that you interviewed with?"

So if someone is still appearing in the MCPS online directory, then they will be here next year? I had heard a few teachers in our school were moving outside of MCPS, but some are still appearing in the MCPS directory.

Internal transfers after July 15 need permission from principal. Leaving MCPS for another school is resigning, not “transferring “.

Most likely but sometimes the directory can be a week behind.

If you can afford to leave MCPS for a private school, do it. You won’t want to return.
